Our littlest miss has graced us with her presence for two whole months, and I can hardly believe how fast it's gone.
Matilda is:
...such a patient, calm, content little thing. She will squawk for attention, but then settle herself down and wait her turn. God sent her to us at the right time - four girls is busy some (read: most) times. But Tily is the best self-soothing baby I think I've ever seen. She is incredible.
...a nuzzler. She is so cuddly, and loves to burrow down into my neck or the crook of my arm, or against my cheek. She loves to be nestled in and feel the warmth of my skin. She wiggles around to find just the right spot and then will fall asleep and snuggle for hours, much to my delight. She's a dream.
...strong! She holds her head like a champ, likes to sit up with help and loves showing off her strong legs. and her grip! She loves to grab onto things like my hair, my fingers, or my necklace, and it is hard to make her let go. Phoebe calls her "Mighty Woman!" ... and that she is.
...so loved by her sisters. I frequently find them fighting over who gets to hold Tily, and can often catch Afton or Goldie carrying her around the house (!!!). So far, we've only had one incident (involving Phoebe trying to pick her up... we all cried, but we were all fine in the end), so I'd say that's pretty good. They read her stories, they sing her songs... They are good little mothers and love to hold her and hug her and love on her.
...starting to be so smiley! We love her cute smiles and different faces she makes. She has an excellent frown, but still isn't much of a crier... (How did we get so lucky?) I also often catch her cooing and smiling at the ceiling, and I can't help but think she's chatting and making faces with her twin in heaven. Tily is so sweet and her perfect little spirit is a remedy to all my heartache. We love this happy little gal!
