{almost} spring musings

It was {almost} spring last week and there were blossoms on all of our trees and little baby daffodils blooming in our yard. Then it snowed 8 inches at our house and killed everything. Isn't there a law that it isn't supposed to snow in April?

We are the proud owners of seven chickens. Yes, chickens. Four of them are ours, and the other three are making a temporary home at our house until my aunt and uncle finish building their home.

This year's NCAA championship game was the worst basketball game I have ever seen. And I have seen sooo many basketball games in my lifetime. This includes, but is not limited to: scrappy college games, high school boys games, junior high girls games, and ward ball. What a disgrace to the sport. (For a more in-depth review and hours of commentary from yours truly, feel free to call me and I'll tell you how I really feel... ha!)

But hooray for Jimmer winning the Naismith Player of the Year Award! I love you, Jimmer. Please play for an NBA team I like (read: Not the Lakers or the Heat. Or the Cavs. Or the Clippers, Bulls or Wizards. Ok, please just play for the Jazz so I can still watch you play live).

I always feel uplifted and renewed after General Conference. It's hard not to. But this particular one seemed to penetrate deeper than usual. So many great messages. So many inspired words. And so many talks I absolutely needed to hear.

My life is quite lovely. I have a great job. I have incredibly amazing family. I have fantastic friends. I have a clean, warm home to live in and a coop for my chickens!

Above all, I have a magnificent husband. He's good for me - Balances me out, and helps me be better.

Life is excellent.
