golden's eight months

Time is flying.
Eight months!

Golden is:

... clapping! She claps just about every time we say "yay!" and it's the cutest thing. She is so expressive and gets so excited about every little thing. She particularly loves everything Afton does and applauds her regularly. The interactions between these two girls just melts me. Goldie has also started waving - mostly to herself and staring at her hand in amazement. It's adorable.

... dancing. She does this hilarious little head shake - it's almost like a mix between a bobble head and Carlton's dance from the Fresh Prince... And her whole little body just lights up. She grins and laughs and dances and it is so delightful.

... super mobile. Not only is she crawling (both army crawl and on her knees, depending on how fast she wants to go...), she pulls herself up onto anything she can reach, and has started walking around the furniture. I know. Walking. Ugh. It's too soon. I also caught her climbing the stairs the other day. Like overnight, she decided she's not a baby anymore and keeps trying to prove it to us by being ahead of the game.

... loving food. With real teeth comes real food. She eats everything. And she's really good at picking up food and putting it in her mouth with her little pincers. Her latest foods have been broccoli, crab, tortillas, peppers, veggie straws, cheese, rice (oh, how she loves rice! But only if it has some flavor to it...), ice cream and chicken. And she is so over anything with mild flavor. (Baby puff cereal, rice crackers, etc. All the things 8 month olds should be loving. She's past it. She wants rich, flavorful food.) And she's a bottomless pit. She'll nurse and then still eat piles of food with us at dinner. She is a food lover.

... singing. She has the sweetest little voice. Sometimes she chirps like a little bird. Other times I swear she's speaking Parsal-Tongue. And the right in the middle of her sweet songs, sometimes she'll growl like a little puppy. She loves to chatter with me, and I love everything she has to say.

This girl is so charming. We just can't get enough of her! We're so glad she's ours.
