It's unbelievable that it's been an entire year since our darling Emmeline doll was born!
She is the Queen of our hearts, and every day is better with her in it!
Emmeline is:
... happy! She is such a content little darling [as long as I'm around... haha]. She has a sweet, patient disposition and has been so delightful lately with her pleasant nature. [Extra delightful, because I have had pneumonia, and sick moms need happy babies so we all survive!] She loves to be around people and loves to look people in the eye and smile, or wave, or babble to them. She is a friendly girl and I'm often stopped in the grocery store, or when we're out places because she smiles at so many people! She is such a nice little friend.
... officially settled into a long night sleep routine, and it has blessed all of our lives. It took her a while to figure it out, but she finally did! And her [pretty] consistent 12 hours nights have been really, really great. She generally wakes up happy and cheerful. I've often found her just sitting in her bed in the morning, talking to herself, or playing with a toy or just laying there looking out her window. Sleep is good for everyone!
... becoming a ravenous eater. She LOVES food - all kinds. She loves meat, fruit, vegetables, bread, eggs, fruit-flavored candy and crackers... Really, anything we'll give her. She STILL has no teeth (!) but she's figured out how to mash everything down with her gums or suck on it long enough to disintegrate whatever piece she's eating. Haha! It's actually quite impressive what she eats, despite being toothless. She wants to eat what we're eating, and she thinks its hilarious to sneak a drink out of my water bottle. She's so funny!
... a singer! She loves to sing along to any music she hears, and I have to say it is the most lovely sound! She warbles her little voice and likes to sing high and low. Its so sweet. She is truly delightfully entertaining. I love seeing her talents and interests start to develop, even so young!
... the best baby sister in all the land! She is patient and snuggly, and playful and cute. She loves being with her sisters and being doted on. She has a lot to learn from them, but also has been providing them with valuable lessons right back - in how to care for babies, how to help moms... you know. Valuable life skills. These girls are amazing.
We're abundantly blessed. And really, just so grateful.
God is so good.
